FAQs

How much does it cost?

Each 30 min session is £35.

We have reduced this from our usual rate to help people at this very difficult time.

How to get connected for the physio consultation?

Most of our consultations will be completed by WhatsAPP video call. We can also use Facetime. Ideally we would have a video link in some form so we can observes you moving, see where you pain is and assess you in the best way we can remotely. If this is not an option, we can do telephone consultations, although this is not ideal and will restrict the benefit of the physio consultation.

How can I book?

Give us a call and speak to one of our wonderful reception team.

Book an Online Remote Physio Consultation at a time that’s suits you.

The reception team will email you a registration form for you to fill out and send back to us via email. This will save lots of time during the actual consultation and means we know lot more about you prior to the appointment. If getting the form back to your physio prior to the appointment is not possible, don’t worry. We can fill it out during the consultation session.

The Physio will phone you via video call at the appointment time. Please be ready with your phone.

We will try to contact you for 10 minutes via this method. If unsuccessful, we will phone you instead.

Will my health insurance cover me?

Maybe!

In these unusual times, some insurance companies have agreed to cover the costs of online physio consultations. This will depend on your insurer and policy. Please check directly with them if you are wanting us to bill them directly. We will need confirmation of cover prior to commencing a consultation. Alternatively, we can email you a receipt if you self-pay. You can then speak to your insurer to get it reimbursed.

What happens if you can’t help my problem?

If we can’t help you, there will be no charge for the session. We will advise you of this as soon as we can, and try to help you to see the right person. Onward referral; during assessment and treatment; if we have concerns that you need to see a local (to you) physio in person, either now or in the future, we can help that process.

How can I trust that you are a good physio?

Please have a look at our other clinic websites. We are all senior physios registered with the HCPC and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP). Most of us still work in the NHS and work part time privately. We are also part of the PhysioFirst Quality assured scheme (QAP).

Do I need a doctor’s referral?

No, you don’t.

Can you treat my injury through online Physiotherapy?

In most cases, the answer is yes. We will not be able to use all assessment and treatment techniques as a normal physio session would. We however believe we can still help nearly all patients in some way. If we can’t help, we will stop the consultation and help you get the right advice elsewhere.

How can you assess and diagnose me without touching me?

As physios we split our assessment and diagnosis into two sections:

Subjective assessment: this is where we ask you lots of questions, related to your pain, cause of injury, things that help and things that hurt etc….. After this, we should have a very good idea of what may be the problem. We then test this by assessing by observing movement.

Objective assessment: A lot of observational physiotherapy assessment is observation of where your pain is, your posture, your biomechanics and how you move. This can be used to help conclude a diagnosis.

Please note: A lot of observation assessment is completed with hands on assessment. At this current unusual time, this is not possible for some patients. Even with these restrictions we promise to assess in the best way we can. If we/you are not happy that a thorough assessment and diagnosis is possible we will not charge you for the session and help to get you to see the right person locally to you. Each patient’s injuries and circumstances are different. The physio will be there for you to work through this.
