Covid secure measures in place
At this current time, our toolbox of physiotherapy treatments we can offer are obviously limited. We however still believe we can help all patients and injuries in some way, even remotely.
The alignment of your muscles & joints effects your posture and movement. Faulty biomechanics can cause, stiffness, pain, muscle imbalance and weakness. Objectively assessing you and advice on correction techniques may be able to help your symptoms.
Modify your environment to fit you. Are you currently less active and in static postures longer? Are your computer, mouse, table, TV, Sofa, and chair, positioned correctly? Through video consultation you can walk us around your environment to help make it as comfortable as possible for you.
Each individual and injury will need the correct exercises and progression of these to speed rehab and recovery. Once you are better, prevention exercises will aim to reduce reoccurrence.
Whilst we are treating remotely, this will be our foundations of treatment. Physios across the country are experts in exercise prescription to help patients with problems, rehabilitation after injury and prevent injuries in the future.
Physios are experts in assessing how you move. This could be how you walk, run, stand up, squat, jump etc...
Pilates are exercises that strengthens your core muscles and help movement control. Improving core stability leads to improved posture, better biomechanics, strength, stability and reduce pain and spasm. Many injuries seen in a physio clinic are caused by problems with posture, weak core strength, poor balance, flexibility or movement control; all of which Pilates can improve. It’s much more than a just a 'plank'!
Our most common postures are sitting or standing or dynamic posture (how we move). Sustained poor posture can contribute towards pain which is why physios are so focused on correcting this when we can.
Exercise progression to help improve you back to the pre injured you! This could include rehab after sports injury, operation, whiplash or any cause of pain. Please see our ‘what we can assess and treat page’ to see our whole list.
